Default Tire recommendations for my 2001 Mustang GT Convertible

Bought my first Mustang convertible last summer. It currently has Goodyear Eagle 2R45 tires (245/45ZR17). I was told by the mechanic that checked the car out that the tires have about 5,000 miles left on them. Interested in recommendations for tires to replace them. The car is a garage queen, not a daily commuter and is not driven during the winter.

I appreciate any suggestions.

If you go to The Tire Rack - Your performance experts for tires and wheels you can input the catagory or size of tire you like, the see the comparison chart of all the reviews then sort by the things that are most inportant to you - I cross referenced the results with the reviews on the discount tire website to avoid a site bias.

I'm getting goodyear eagle f1 allseasons for mine next week. Bu I won't have a review for a while. For summer tires, the general exclaim UHP was # 2 rated and is less pricey than most.

I did the same thing as the last guy who posted. I research everything to death. I came up with Dunlop Direzza sport z1. Awsome. They have large shoulder blocks which I think looks cool (like the Nitto 555) They are top of the line Dunlops and still only $148 each. I like Dunlops because they invest more in research than pretty much every other tire yet don't rake you over the coals. Try buying an equal tire from Michelin.
