It's at the De Anza Cove boat ramp on Mission Bay, San Diego. The hill in the background is the south side of Mt Soledad. I like to use that location because there is usually some low-contrast light (overcast near the ocean) and if you get there early enough, not much in the way of traffic in and out of the water. Mt Soledad has the same advantages with regard to light, and I can get those high-viewpoint shots from up on the side of the monument terraces. Once again, early works for light and traffic.
I didn't know about Puddingstone lake (reservoir?) although I have been past there quite a few times.

Nothing wrong with the way a V6 sounds; I still prefer it to the eight, for musicality of tone. This one was only eight-tenths slower through the eighth-mile than the comparable (and current) GT/SC auto.
