Photographed here in 1967 England with Tech Stickers and Trophies galore is a 1966 HiPo ‘FIA’ Mustang ‘Road Race’ and ‘Rallye Course’ Car with the Original 12 page ‘FIA Homologation’ Documents Date Stamped and Embossed; with ‘FORD Special Vehicle Sports Car Management’ - ‘United States Automobile Competition Committee’ and ‘Federation Internationale De L Automobile’. This Mustang raced in `FIA Competition` in France during 1966 & 1967 permanent ‘FIA’ assigned ID number is 5011. The car was shipped back to America in 1968 where it continued to be raced.
… This is one of only 6 Mustang Coupes that were ever ‘FIA’ Licensed to race in 1966 Overseas Competition and the only one to have come back to its Dearborn Michigan breeding ground. With Driver Gale Fenner the Car Won 1st in class and 1st overall 4 times in 1966 alone, have all Documents and Tech Stickers and period News Paper Accounts to prove i.e. French ‘COURSE DE COTE D`ARRY’ / ‘ABRESCHVILLER’ etc.
… This Mustang is one of a precious few that helped Win for Ford the prestigious ‘1966 FIA Internationale Manufacturers Championship’ the Only American Car Company to have ever won the annual ‘FIA Manufactures Cup’. This Mustang also has its original ‘Dearborn Assembly Line’ ‘Build Sheet’ both embossed metal ‘Body Buck Tags’ and Door ‘Warranty Tag’ showing a ‘Made for Export’ Code of # 95 plus every Title going back to the Build Date in 1965. The History and Documents of this K Code Coupe has been approved by the ‘Sports Vintage Racing Association’ (SVRA).
… I am looking for anything that could round out a Display for this extremely rare Mustang; example any 1965 - 1966 Ford Showroom, Display and Service Dept items, or any period looking items. Even copies are OK. Any period Small Block and or exotic racing parts. Kind Regards; R.D.
… P.S. _ an interesting side note is that 1965 and 66 FIA Mustang Coupes are rarer then the ‘FIA’ ‘Shelby GT350’ including other Mustang Fastback Race Cars. Fastbacks had been ‘FIA’ approved for racing in the North American Continent so they could not be re-assigned for “FIA” Overseas Racing so the Mustang Coupes had to be used; and with great success.
