I love shots of "elements" of mustangs as much as shots of the cars themselves. My current desktop wallpaper is the SVT Cobra that I took when a car was on the lift at the shop. It was a great angle to shoot it from.
The trick to not get yourself in the reflection of the chrome is to back away as much as possible from the car, and use a telephoto/zoom to get in close. Then shoot from a slight angle so you are out of the refelction. Doing this at a park of even an empty lot will get some nice ground/sky reflections in those chrome logos!
