Pros: 550 ft/lb torque cap.
Cons: reverse lock-out

WOW! What a tranny!

I put 10psi twin turbo boost through this thing and it just laughed at me. At the strip I made 6000 rpm launches all day long and not even a whimper from this beast. Power shifting is no problem, just nail it and don't lift the throttle. D&D's T56 will find the gear every time!

I run 4:10's in the rear. With a 2:66 first gear and a 0:50 6th the rpm's are well tamed. 1st-4th gearing is very close (2.66 1st, 1.78 2nd, 1.30 3rd, 1.1 4th, .74 5th, .50 6th). A complete joy to drive. It even came with a Pro 5.0 shifter

Reverse is a little bit of a pain. Vipers came with a reverse lock out and the solenoid is still there. You need to push through it to get reverse. I plan on hooking it up with a button on the shifter

Pros: 6 gears
Cons: Sounds like a diesel

While i never had a actual problem with the tranny, their "complete swap kit" was a mess. I didnt get the fork with the tranny they had to send that seperatly when i realized it was missing. That of course happened after my old tranny as all out. The new tranny mounts are kinda shady. And the damn thing sound like complete ass at idle. The gear roll over noise was so loud i could here it in the car, out of the car, at my door, in the store. Untill you push in the clutch the tranny sounds like a diesel motor. The gear wine alone made me never want to drive my car again. I wouldnt recommend this on my worst enemy. When i called them for support on this they said its very common. Common or not it irritates the hell outta me. Then to send it back to them to look at it and or repair/replace i would have to pay for shipping there and they would ship back. I could not do this as i would then have to pay to pull the tranny out, pay to store the car, pay to ship back. Hell that was almost the price of the tranny. Needless to say i sold the car and ordered a 2004 Mach 1. Do not buy this. The 6 speed was completly useless. at 5 gear 3 grand i was running i belive 90 in my 5 speed, in 6th gear at 3 grand i was doing 90 as well. Save the money and the hassle of cutting and drilling to put this in, buy ya a good tremec 5 spd.

In the end, all the matters is who passes the finish line first. Don't whine to me about why it wasnt you.

Pros:
Cons:

Yes the T-56 Viper trans is noisy. So is the T56 in the Vette. I used GM Sycromesh and it quited down nicely. It still had a tad bit of noise, but this thing is a brute and I can deal with the noise.

For D&D Performance. I had a slight vibration at the front of the trans.Well Don said ship it back, freight collect! It took a week to get there within two days they had torn it down, found a bad input shaft bearing, put it back togather and shipped it back to me. That is service!!! Great bunch of people!
