Trying not to void my warranty, or even give all the money hungry ford dealerships a reason to void my warranty, I decided to go with the K&N drop in air filter. Installation was simple, 1 minute swap, and the filter supposedly lasts 100,000 miles, basically the lifetime of the car, but who knows if that's true! I'm sure there was a MPG increase, but I did not measure it. The air is flowing better however, and it makes a whistling sound when throttle is applied.(very quiet) It won't improve hp drastically, its no CAI, but it will help a little (tiny, small) amount. Seems to filter well too. I live out here in the desert, and checked the airbox the other day, and there was NO dust below the filter (finger swipe) so that shouldn't be a concern.
Rating: 5/5
Price: $44.99 to $52.00 (checker, amazon, american muscle, etc)

This product made my purse lighter..... :-)
Well, I suppose I would recommend this product - but not for any other reason than wanting a filter superior to stock? As a proud owner of a K & N no tune needed FIPK CAI, and a former owner of this drop in - I can tell you there is a huge difference with the CAI. I just couldn't throw the $50 I wasted on this out - so I gave it to my brother! :-)
