Description: Yokohama’s ability to foresee market trends and get out in front of them with technologically-advanced products is well-known in the industry. Enter the AVS ES100 delivering performance and value to its class. Available in summer of 2002, the AVS ES100 is part of the AVS line of ultra-high performance products that features the AVS dB and the AVS Sport – all establishing new industry trends.

Why is the value of the AVS ES100 so important?

While the ultra-enthusiasts want the latest, best and highest performing tires available, the increasingly discerning consumers demand tires that offer exciting performance while providing more in terms of everyday needs and affordability. The Yokohama AVS ES100 was designed to meet the needs of this growing market.

The design and construction of the AVS ES100 defines the latest in high performance. From its aggressive tread design to the unique rubber compound, from outstanding wet and dry grip to durability, this tire has it all.

To be considered a true ultra-high performance tire, a tire must have a strong, stable shoulder area. The long, continuous shoulder blocks of the AVS ES100 reduce tread squirm for crisp turning and handling. The stepped shoulder profile (SSP) eliminates excess heat, reducing rolling resistance and increasing high-speed stability. Steel sidewall inserts complement the casing design providing greater control and responsive steering when cornering at high speeds.

The AVS ES100 provides confident wet and dry grip through a newly-developed silica tread compound that allows the tread rubber to be pliable at low temperatures, enhancing grip. Combined with a heat resistant base compound, this tire offers a high level of grip, wear and durability. The AVS ES100 is the first tire in the U.S. to incorporate Yokohama’s patented Silica Composite Carbon (SCC).

Unidirectional tusk grooves combine with two circumferential center channels and work together like a pump to force water out from under the tread. This enables the advanced tread compound to get a firm grip on the pavement. The compound and the traction work together to help the AVS ES100 attain an AA traction rating (UTQG 280 AA/A) – the highest possible rating. Durability is exceptional. A rim protector bar provides expensive wheels added protection against curbside scuffing and damage. The jointless nylon cap and layered construction keep the footprint of the AVS ES100 in constant shape, even at high speeds.

The AVS ES100 carries three speed ratings – H speed-rated for 60 series aspect ratios, V speed-rated for 50 series aspect ratios /15” sizes; and W speed-rated for 16” sizes and larger.

Yokohama AVS ES100 has sizes that cover everything from classic sports cars to today’s performance sedan. AVS ES 100 is available in 14 to 18 inch sizes. This tire is designed for applications like the Camaro Z28, Corvette, Mustang, Acura, Audi, BMW, Honda, VW, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Porsche, Toyota and Mercedes.
