Throwback Thursday: Lap Le Mans in a Legendary GT40

Today we get to ride along for a lap of the fabled La Sarthe Circuit in Le Mans, France. 

It’s a legendary combination we’re treated to, as Sir Stirling Moss pilots John Wyer’s Gulf Oil Ford GT40 MK1. To be clear this is chassis number 1075, the GT that won Le Mans back-to-back in ’68 and ’69 after the ACO imposed a 305-cubic inch limit on displacement.

Really, how often has the same car won the same race consecutively?
