Coinciding with the Mustang’s 2018 face lift will be the return of the legendary Mach 1 badge.
The last time Ford offered the Mach 1 Mustang was in 2003 and 2004, where it was given an extra 30 shot of horsepower over the standard GT to go along with its retro styling cues and that shaker hood.
Considering the Mach 1 has historically been a performance package it’s probable Ford will follow a similar playbook in 2018. Those quad tips and front splitter are certainly good signifiers.
Word has it Ford will roll out a special edition Mustang every year in order to keep consumers interested in the pony car versus newer versions of the Camaro and Challenger.
