The Shelby Super Snake Now Slithers in Australia

The Australian performance car market is about to get a huge punch in the mouth with the arrival of the 750 hp Shelby Super Snake Mustang.

When Ford decided the Mustang would go global for the 6th generation, it was also inadvertently decided that RHD markets would receive the best in factory tuning as well.

The 2016 Shelby Super Snake is the first fruit born from that decision.

Mustang Motorsport Australia is the only authorized Shelby Mod Shop in Australia, and the ones responsible for converting Mustangs into Super Snakes.

First they take a Mustang GT –either automatic or manual– and bolt on a supercharger and a bellowing Borla exhaust for a stout 650 hp.

Next they upgrade the suspension with Ford Performance gear, swap the stock wheels for WELD Racing Super Snake 20″ alloys wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, lastly they keep it all compliant with a set of 6-piston Wilwood brakes.

You can bump power up to 750 hp if you opt for the larger supercharger, and improved intercooler and heat exchanger.

Aesthetically the car offers all the signature Shelby looks; from the Super Snake stripes and hood scoop through to the rear spoiler and carbon fiber accents, there will be no mistaking just what this thing is.
