There’s nothing quite like the cheesy exuberance of ads from the late ‘60s. In 1967, Ford was all about getting people to “take the Mustang pledge.”
Advertising such novel features and select-shift, which allowed people to select gears in their automatic transmission. Ford calls it ’68 idea at ’67 prices, but as far as we can tell it was a 2019 idea at ’67 prices.
It’s also funny to note that the Mustang was primarily advertised on price. Not because it’s particularly surprising, but because it’s fun to imagine how much any of the cars featured in these ads would sell for these days.
