Good Day All.
Driving a few nights ago, and car ran up to about 230 degrees, which is one notch after half way and two notches below the red at 270. Fan has not been working. I managed to get to a parking lot and shut it off. Let it cool down for about 30 mins, and was back on the road with no problems. Drove it for about 20 miles.
Next morning drove it for about 2 miles and it shut off. For the next 8 hours this is the pattern of cranking and running.... Once it would crank, it would run for about 15 seconds then die. Then I would try and crank again right away, and would not turn over. I would have to wait about 45 mins to an hour, then it would crank and run for the 15 secs then die. Now it's cranking, but not turning over. But when it did run for the 15 secs, there was no fluctuation in the rpms, or hesitation. So it ran normally.
At this point I have replaced the Coil, Solenoid and Ignition Module. All under warranty, so no money spent. The Module I first replaced about 3 weeks ago, and I took it to get tested last night and it was bad. So I thought that was the problem, but with the new one in, still nothing.
So the rising temp burned out the module, and I'm thinking something else in the vicinity. Could it be the distributor?
No leaks
No coolant in the oil.
Coolant is still it's green color- I was told a milky coolant color could mean blow head gasket
Battery Meter in normal
Would appreciate any ideas.
