Unhappy Hard to shift into reverse. Standard 5 speed

I have an 08 mustang gt with a 5 speed standard transmission with a shorter shifter and always have a hard time to shift it into reverse. Anyone else having this problem. Thank you

I also have a short throw shifter (Barton) and never had that problem. Perhaps the shifter return spring is too stiff and isn't allowing the lever to go all the way across the gate. You may be able to adjust it.

Check the linkages, something may be loose.

I find that when my MGW shifter is hard to put in reverse, if I put it into first gear for a second it makes it easier to engage reverse.

I have found over the years when you have trouble going into reverse but not the forward gears it is the clutch disk dragging slightly on the flywheel/pressure plate.

I had issues getting mine into first and reverse 60k miles ago with the stock shifter and fluid. I haven't had an issue in the last 4 years and 60k miles after swapping to a Barton and Mobil ATF.

I don't know what shifter you are running, but they are not all created equal. Check your linkage for anything loose as well.
