Convertible Owners? Any tips on putting the boot cover on when you have the top down?

Just got fed up this afternoon and left it off when I was on my way home from work. The weather is just starting to get nice here in NJ. The top will be down every chance I get. I am sure after a few times of trying this, I will get better at it. Thanks for the help

I put mine on once, it's now collecting dust somewhere in my garage. Maybe my dog can use it as a bed ?

Same hear the only time I ever put it on is when I take it to a car show other than that it's collecting dust. Biggest waste of money. Too bad they didnt have a tonneau cover option instead. That would have been a much better investment. IMO

I agree on the "shoulda" for a tonneau cover. I was spoiled by furrin cars that were easy to open or close with the top down.

The boot cover is a pain to put or take, but with practice it gets easier. Usually not worth the hassle, but I keep thinking about what ultraviolet rays do to everything. I believe my top's down about 90% of the time it's outdoors; someday I'll notice the front part is faded, or that'll be the part that fails.

What helps me relax about not using the boot is that I cover the cockpit, including the top (up or down) with a California PopTop whenever the car is parked outside for more than a few minutes:

I've had mine for more than a year, and it shows no signs of wear. Every few weeks I wipe it down - both sides - to remove collected dust. Nice piece of kit.

Be patient

Be patient. At first its a pain, but when you get the hang of it, it takes just a couple of minutes. Following the instructions and work from one side to the other.

I like the cleaner look as well as the protection from UV. If you have the luxury, park it in a garage or put on a cover car, so that you don't have to always put it on and take it off.

take your time i start on the drivers side and take my time. I slide the ear in first and make my way around to the other side. It gets much easier with time and its a nice look.
