2005 Mustang GT with noise from exhaust

Im a newbie to the mustang world and purchased myself a Mustang Gt an 05 model. When i test drove the car from the garage there was a rattling noise which sounded alot like a stone in the exhaust which i did ask what that noise was and the dealer did say it was simply a stone in the exhaust. Now after owning this car for several months and the noise still being there but only when the car was cold I am very concerned. I want to start upgrading the car an adding mods but i want to be sure im doing this to a car that is not going to break down on me in the near future. So please help is this a natural sound for cold V8s or should i be rushing back to the dealer with all guns blazing.

Thanks for your help
Baz

You could pull off the axleback portion and see if anything comes out. Worst case it could be a piece of catalytic converter substrate.

but im thinking if the noise only appears when its cold i cant imagine it actually being exhaust , im thinking it must jus sound like that sort of thing . and the noise is up by engine bay as if from manifold area. From the threads iv read about noises, would the timing chain only make a noise when engines cold
if it was loose

Ok... That helps. Could be the Center Stack Rattle TSB.
