15x10 rims backspace?? Skinnies?

Hey all,

I'm getting some slicks... help needed with size....

How wide can I go? 10.5 or wider tires?

Ideas on available rims to hold them?

What backspacing should I be looking for?

For skinnies in the front; any available 15 or 17x5-7? Or what width?

What backspacing in front to go over my Brembo brakes? Think my current rims are 35 mm and they just barely miss the calipers....

What looks better 15 rear and front or 15 rear and 17 front? Both would be 26" high....

Links and or pics would be nice!

Thanks for all and any input!!!

Regards,

KJ, poorer but happier

dont know if you care about style, but if you just want steel wheels, see if you can find a set of 2003 or older 15 inch crown vic police interceptor wheels. (04 and up have 16's if you want 16's) lug pattern is the same as the stang for all vic years 98-up. just pay attention to the back spacing on the 04 and up. ford literally changed it year to year. the 03 and older vics wheels will stick out about an inch, perfect for slicks. oh yeah, they are all 10.5 inch rims. i think you can put as much as a 12 inch tire on a 10.5 inch rim, but not sure. ive got a set of 15's off a vic police car waiting to be powdercoated black... wont look too bad... cant help you on the front, havent looked for skinny rims. on the backspacing, just make sure they are either the say as your current ones, or if you are going to put a wider tire on them than the rim, look for a deeper center. deeper the center, more the wheel is pushed out of the wheel well, more shallow, it will be closer to the inner fender well. you dont want any clearance issues. that why i like the 2000 15 inch steel interceptor wheels i have. they will allow a bigger tire with the deeper offset, and they were free too. (for me at least) got them from the city garage, they were going to throw them out b/c they had snow tires on them, and the 15's will not fit the 04-new vics, which is what we have now. anothers trash, is anothers treasure....

KJ_Cinci asked all the right questions. Does anyone have the answers yet?

Anyone know the sizes and offsets needed to clear big and skinnies on our 05+ GTs?

Bogart built mine.

I was hoping to find my (05 GT over GT500 brakes) measurements for you but have lost them...

It was NOT cheap! And I still had too add spacers (a big one up front to clear the GT500 Brembos and a smaller one in the rear to fit 11.5s.)

How to measure here: http://www.bogartracingwheels.com/bfaqs.htm

Good Luck!
