Clutch adjustment

I know we have hydraulic clutches in our cars, but mine doesn't start grabbing until the very end. I only have 2500 miles on my car, and I haven't completely raped it, but it is just to far back for my enjoyment. Any help?

There is no adjustment. If it's not a clutch disk issue, you might have a slave cylinder issue. Is your brake master cylinder full??

It has 2200 miles on it, I hardly ever drive it, I hope it would be full. I haven't done anything to the car period.

It's probably normal and nothing to worry about. When my clutch was stock I only had to push it in slightly to make a gear change.

There is nothing wrong with your clutch at 2200 miles unless you dump it real hard everywhere you have gone in those miles. The only thing wrong with it is that it is a wimpy baby clutch, and like i have previously stated in another thread It is my biggest complaint on the S197.

As STL mentioned check the Master Cylinder. You could be low on fluid. You may have a slave cylinder issue.

I had to cap the line on the bottom of my Master cylinder when I swapped in my automatic. I remember thinking that thing looked really weak.

If the fluid was low, had air in it the clutch fluid or a slave that was acting up it would have the oposite traits he is complaining about. It would never fully disengage the pressure plate so getting it into the next gear even if you push the pedal to the floor would be very hard or impossible.

Oops, miss read that, or got it confused with another post. I thought he said he was pushing it to the floor to engage.

He's saying it engages too high! Yeah, my stock one was pretty high also. Like maybe less then a quarter in before it engaged.
