Anybody here that have done a Seafoam treatment on their 4.6L 3V stang?

I used to do it on all my other cars...but not sure whether or not to do it on my Mustang. Anybody here that have experience with it on 3V?

Is the motor making noise or something? Maybe just do more frequent oil changes to clean up any sludge. If the engine has a lot of miles, sometimes removing sludge does more harm than good. I read a lot of testimonials online about Seafoam and other additives/cleaners, and they dont seem to really help. Rislone or seafoam can clean up a sticky lifter plunger.

But I wouldnt put that in my car. I would take it apart first. lol

The question is not when's he gon' stop, but who is gonna stop him? ~ Super Soul

Yes, I've ran it through the PCV at about 7k miles and that was a waste because it didn't smoke much. I'm guessing there wasn't much to clean. I also ran it through the fuel system at the time, just for kicks. I never have and never will put it in the oil.

I'm not a fan of treating the oil either.

I use it in the fuel @ the 1 oz/gal ratio when I put my car up for the winter. If you go to the 2 oz/gal ratio, put that in the fuel tank then run the tank out then change the oil. I do that on my motorcycle before every oil change.

Just change your oil when you are supposed to and you won't ever have to "clean out" your motor.

I have torn down my share of Mod motors and two 3v's now and even ones with a lot of towing miles (truck) all looked brand spakin new. Even the truck motor that I towed with and din't change the oil for 30,000 miles.

30,000 miles! Coming from someone so methodical Im shocked.

I have yet to use seafoam on my Stang but on my 180,000 mile Mitsu I had so much smoke the neighbors thought my car was on fire. It still didnt quite free the stickey lifter though.

It'll clean the fuel system and upper intake.
