Convertible top care.

My Mustang GT has a black convertible top. However, which is the best way to care for it? I use turtle wax car soap with a built in wax, so it says, but i think i need to do more. I have been using this soap for many years and am very happy with it. Any idea's appreciated. Thanks.

I use a mild bristle brush and vinyl cleaner at the beginning of the warm season and at the end before I park her. Follow up with Maquire's vinyl protectant or any UV protection liquid.

There are more expensive products out there specifically for convertible tops. It's called RAGGTOPP. It is a series of products for top care. Your local auto parts place should carry it.

Both the conertibles I owned had black tops. They tend not to last long in the hot Texas sun. I used the Mcguires and sometimes Armor All and never had a crack or blemish on either.

is your top vinyl or cloth? Most are vinyl, but cloth was an option. they generally rewquire different treatments although I think 303 makes a protectant that works on both. I use Ragg Topp brand on my cloth top.
