2007 GT Airaid Intake

I'd like to get opinions on the Airaid intake for the GT. it is the same one as the roush right? What made be choose it is the fact the car has to remain stock for now but in the future I might tune it, and the Airaid intake has that modular tube inside that can be removed for tuning. Is it a good intake? if u have a suggestion for a better intake that doesnt require a tune let me know. thanx

C&L also make a similar intake. "street" they call it, comes with the same removable insert to allow for a "no tune required" setting

2009 Vista Blue Mustang GT manual with 10" white racing stripes. C&L street CAI, SCT tuner with 91 Race tune. 14" antenna, 2010 mustang gt "belly pan", sequential tail lights, Hurst billet competition plus shifter, Borla ATAK catback exhaust, Kooks LT headers with Catted H pipe, mid-mounted dynomax race bullet mufflers (as resonators)

Airaid makes the Roush CAI and they are exactly the same except for the name printed on them. I have one on my 2007 GT and it has excellent fit and finish and I couldn't be happier with it. I ran mine for about 6-months before I got a tune and it ran just fine. It is a great sounding intake too

i have the airraid and it looks and sounds great.

i have talked to several tuners and they all tell me not to even think of running with out the venturi. even with a tune for it... i have heard a few reasons and they all come down to too much airflow.

My opinion..
If your going to do it do it right. Get a cold air intake with a tuner. They make more power period. The tuner can also read and clear engine codes and let you makes changes for bigger tires/wheels. For $550 you can get a JLT CAI and tuner that will give you better throttle response and firmer shifts in an automatic and add 20+rwhp.

Just take the plunge and get an intake and tuner. You won't be sorry.

I had the airaid with no tune, didn't feel any increase in hp, just alot louder, almost to the point of being annoying, so went back to the stock air box. Still feels the same but quieter.

My current SCT tune wouldn't allow for removing the venturi as you have said but I have cams and a custom dyno tune going on mine tomorrow. The tuner says its OK to remove the venturi from my Roush model with these new mods , if it works out i'll let you know.

The cams and custom tune are done now and yes the venturi was removed with the custom tune and works fine.
