Well cap isn't the fix, still having problem, but theres no real thing that stands out, to when it happens. Hot day for sure. Was told that a better over flow reservoir would fix. Any thoughts?

Could it stick intermediately? And i was told I'm just making so much heat that it happens? is there a more heavy duty reservoir or do i have to buy a new high performance radiator to drive with confidence.

same trouble with my '05 V6 4.0L SOHC

Hi,

I am having the same problem as you on my '05 V6. I've replaced the cap and the thermostat myself and still not fixed. I am about to replace the ECT sensor, Tstat housing next.

I tried the block tester myself and it came up negative for exhaust gas but I am not so confident in the test. You can borrow it from autozone for free.

let me know how you make out. I'm concerned of a HG crack on mine and am not looking forward to the $$$$ it will cost to fix.

BTW I ride at sea level here in NJ so I don't think your altitude is an issue.

I'm still having a over flow problem. I never get hot and I'm only down about two inches in the reservoir. I don't fill it anymore. Never know when it will happen. With the cap changed should i change the reservoir itself? The male part the cap screws to looks in the correct shape?
