2007 GT Gear swap?

Wanting to put aftermarget gearing in my 07 gt auto. I know there's 3.73, 3.90, 4.10 and 4.56 gear sizes. What the the bonus's and drawbacks of each gear size? Like MPG(rpm), top speed losses, gains on launch, etc? Anyone ever used the 3.90 gears? A buddy of mine put them into his 04 GT and he said they wine a lot. I'm pretty new to all of this.

your gonna wanna mate 4.10s to that gt auto, no ifs ands or buts about it.

its a good hybrid between tq increase and yet not killing the fuel economy

+1 to 05horse. the best gears for an automatic are the 4.10s, you won't lose many mpgs and you'll have plenty more acceleration

I was thinking the same thing but really wanted some more opinions. Much appreciated. Has anyone done this though? What exactly happend? MPG decreased how much? Acceleration was much more noticable? Tire chirp a problem?

4.10's give you '60s-style launches, puts your engine in a great RPM range for aggressive cruising, and at 80mph the motor is only turning 2700 RPM.

So I'm going with the 4.10's. On American Muscle it gives you the option to order Rear End Installation Kit (8.8in), Ford Racing 8.8" Traction-LOK Rebuild Kit w/ Carbon Discs , and Ford Racing Speedometer Recalibration Tool. I know I need the Speedo Recal, and the rebuild kit, but do I need the Traction-LOK rebuild kit? I'm not entirely sure what that even does.

+1 for doing the 4.10's. Also had them installed in my 08 GT auto. My best 1/4 time dropped by 0.4s and gas consumption barely changed (thanks to SCT 91 eco tune when just doing daily driving).
