Tunes frying PCM's

I was reading in the 2011 that 2 new Mustang owners seemed to have fried their PCM's with Tuners. Has anyone here with a 4.6 fried their PCM by installing too many different tunes on their car.

My SCT tuner "died" during a tune and erased my ECU. The car was towed to the dealer and reflashed. American Muscle did replace my tuner. It is always a gamble.

If it was very common, aftermarket tunes and tuners wouldn't be so popular. I haven't had any problems, and its pretty rare that I've heard of other people having problems.
