Need to replace a cam position sensor on 05 GT 4.6 . AutoZone place it on machine and that was the code that came up said it was going bad, any ideas on where it is located on the motor I can't seem to find it? Car at some points while ideling will start to move and shake like it is out of timing or something.
Its probably not the came sensor going bad. Its more than likely the alternator. When it starts to go bad it throws all sorts of weird codes. Just trying to save you some money.
The cam sensors are located on the front of the head. It could very well be that your alternator is going bad as s197fordgt suggested. The diodes go bad and allow AC voltage to "contaminate" the system. Check your voltage at the alternator with a volt meter set to the AC setting. If it shows more than .5 (one half) of a volt AC then it's time for a new alternator. Replace it before it destoys your battery, etc. Here's a link that may help. http://www.pvv.org/~syljua/merc/TooSeptST07.pdf
