SCT Programmer / Turning off Traction Control or a Check Engine Light.

I am new to the site.. and have been into Stangs for some time..
I have a 09 GT right now.. Sold my 97 GT to get it.. and had a Nitro Powered 88 prior..

I just had a question.. Can I shut off a check engine light with my SCT programmer? I am thinking of getting an off road exhaust for it.. and heard this will happen.. Also - any way to turn off the traction control via the unit as well?

Thanks for any help!

Tom

You probably need a custom tune to get that done. The Pro Racer package lets you shut off traction control (I have it turned off) and I think it let's you shut of the CEL, too but I haven't done that. I doubt the options in the canned tunes allow that but don't know for sure.

BlakPhantom09,

Welcome to AFM! Post up some pictures of your 09' we would love to check it out!

Yes, you can check & clear CEL's with SCT programmers. If you are going to run a Off-Road Midpipe we can actually turn off your o2 sensors so that you wont throw a code! We can also turn your traction control off if you wish to have that done.

We offer our SCT Tuners with 3 Custom tunes & Free Custom Tunes For Life! So we will hand write all of our tunes specifically for your modifications, turn off your o2s & Traction control!

If you already have a Device (which it seems you do), you can buy into our Free tunes for life program for a 1 time fee of $150!

Let me know if there is anything I can do to assist you further. Also Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 10AM-3PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

Welcome to the site Phantom!! I have an sf3 and the stock preprogramed tunes allow for me turn off the traction control. The traction control light will be lit on your dash at all times tho... It will clear cels but if you don't have your rear o2 sensors connected or programmed off you will receive the cel once you install your o/r pipe. I can't remember if the preprogrammed tunes have an option for turning off the rear o2 sensors or not tho... Definitely a great mod for the mustang.
