SCT Performance tune question.

Hi Guys,
bought my Mustang about a year ago a 2009 GT 49th anniversary edition with 2000 miles on it. When i went to get the car in the trunk i found a SCT custom tune. I didn't do anything with it until one day I decided WTH lets see what this is. After doing a bunch of research online I finally plug it in and did the 93 Octane as I have always put 93 gas on my stang. Problem was that it didn't run tight with the Tuner ot would skip and chip the tires the engine light would come on just not a good experience so I went back to stock and haven't used the SCT tuner since. Can anyone recommend what I should do with this Tuner , could I call act and maybe getupdated?

Is anything done to your car or is it stock? And is the tune on the SCT handheld listed as a "custom" tune or a "pre-programmed" tune when you load it in to the vehicle?

Once you determine any aftermarket changes to your car, just call Bama, give them the s/n on the tuner, and they'll look it up and you can go from there. They have top notch customer service!

I'm gonna check this evening when I get home but I'm pretty sure is a custom tune...my car is pretty much stock except for the gears 4.10

You can plug in your tuner to your obd port or usb, just get power on it. I think it's under device info???, but it will tell you if it is locked or not. If it's not locked then it's 99.999999999% chance your car is running a stock tune. You can put the standard old 93 oct tune or "strategy tune" and put your gears in there also. Should pick up a few ponies. The best tune you can get is a dyno tune. You need a tuner for any mods and it's great that you have one already. That's $250 saved and that is positively a must have item for any mods.

Let us know, but if you selected the octane level, it was probably the canned tune from SCT. Did you get the option to select rear end gear ration and if so, did you pu the 4.10's in there? If not, that could definitely cause the problems you were having.
