connecting factory subs to aftermarket radio

I got an aftermarket radio installed in my '06 stang. Had to kick out the shaker 500 so I could use my ipod and satelite radio. The only thing now is that we could not figure out how to hook the subs up to the new radio.
Has anyone been able to successfully do this yet? Is there a kit out there?

Yep.. I have all of the shaker 1000 audio system (minus the headunit) hooked up to tmy clarion flip out DVD unit..I used an Audiocontrol LC6 interface controller to tap into the speaker wires and subs and voila...Everything works perfect.I even have gain contol on the Lc6 to increase the output of the factory amps..So, YES it can be done!

How much more gain in the stock amps is Ford holding back?

Awesome! now all I need is step-by-step instructions, haha.
Where exactly is the amp for the subs located?

The amps for the 8's in the doors are on each side of the vehicle behind the kick panels and the ones for the 10's in the trunk are behind the box itself.Anyway, i can' t say for sure how much power is being held back from the amps, but I can tell you this: Once I added the Lc6 controller and leveled everything out on each amp with the gain adjustments the 8's in the door POUND NOW!..Before, you could barely notice them there as far as a subwoofer is concerned..Now, They will fully shake the doors and ALOT of free-air is hitting my leg!..It is a HUGE difference !..There is extra power to be had with this system.
