Amp & 12" spker sounds like poo

I installed my kicker 400 W amp with a 12"... I had to use that lil box that splices into the rear speakers to get RCA outputs.. man it just isn't crisp at all! Any suggestions!
I mean should i change the gain from one speaker on the lil splitter box?
or should i splice from only one speaker in the back?
Or just say screw it and use an aftermarket head unit?(Which i would HATE to do!

Make sure the speakers match the impedence for the kicker. Is it distorted?

I put in the kicker 500w amp with a 12" SQX subwoofer and then some kappa speakers. No problems with any distortion. What gauge wire are you using?

I think i know whats wrong.. i dont have the schematic for which wires are which on the RCA splitter that i have...
in other words.. the 4 wires that splice into the speakers are probably wrong... Theres a grey.. a bue.. w/e..

Oh and where do you put the one wire that seems to be grounded that comes out on the output side of the splitter?

where did you get those "perfect fit" boxes for the 12"s?

OH AND BY THE WAY I RACED AN R6 LAST NIGHT ON THE ROAD AND **PULLED ON HIM!!! THANK YOU NITROUS!

If you click on this link: https://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...er-1700-a.html You will find a schematic. The speaker encloser is from crutchfield link: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-QdfLTHf...0&I=142FDMUS05
