2005: Replace Key + remote with new all in one remote

Hi,

I own a 2005 Mustang and I have separate key and remote:
Replace Key + remote with new all in one remote-keyold.jpg Replace Key + remote with new all in one remote-remote.jpg
Key: "Dot on one side and S on the other" I belive is a PATS 3 CAN H84PT 599114 4D63 40bit
Remote: 2s4t -15k601-aa cwtwb1u331 can 1788 104 575

I will like to replace both with a all in one key+remote like the 164-R8073.

I wondering if I will be able to program the key and the remote on my 2005 Mustang (i have two keys/remote)

here says that the new 80 keys are compatible with old 40bit cars:

I have no idea about any of this. But I would love to be able to do that, my keychain is cluttered and this would help. Definitely keeping an eye on this thread.

I would ask a Ford dealer. My guess is they are fairly expensive, something like $150, but they can to it for you.

I purchased an all-in-one fob from ebay for my 2009 GT and it worked just fine. I believe I used the Ford process for matching a new key to the car. Its been a while, but I believe the car only allows 2 fobs to be matched, so my spare OEM set no longer works. The biggest issue I had was getting the blank cut on the new fob. None of the dealers would touch it (called it an ebay knock-off).

I did this on my 08 GT. I bought 2 - 2010 Ford Fusion all-in-one key and worked fine. Only issue is they were about $20 so take it to someone you trust to cut it right. I purchased a couple of cheap blanks while there and had the guy cut them first to make sure they worked. Then just follow the Ford remote FOB programming.

Is there a chip in the key the dealer would have to program? Or is it just have the key cut then program the fob?

Do an advanced search on ebay for item # 310790727999. This is the dealer and key I purchased. Check the compatibility chart in the description to ensure fit. I believe the transponder key is self programmable as long as you have 2 working keys. The key fob is also self programmable. Looks like they are $15 now. Good luck

I bought two flip keys on Ebay for my 07 GT. I had 2 original fobs and followed the vendors programming instructions. I took the key to a locksmith for cutting. I think they charged $3 per key to cut. I love the flip fob.
