Posible new mod

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mustang-Bat....c100033.m2042 <<So I was looking at this battery cover for ONX since I have the total retro theme going on w/ exterior mods. I thought that this battery cover would be a nice touch. It states that a #24 battery can be used for this cover. Does any one know "IF" our batteries in our S197's use that series battery and would it wotk?

thanks in advance

Looks like a cool cosmetic mod to me. Don`t know if it will fit the S197, as when I looked up replacement batteries, the group size I keep seeing is 40r.

Group 24 was used in GM and Ford cars from the 1960's to the early 1970's. I have a 1964 Pontiac Catalina and 1972 Pontiac Lemans and both use the Group 24. It is physically larger than the battery in the S197.

2010 Kona Blue GT Premium traded in June 2016 for a 2016 Oxford White GT Premium with Ceramic interior. Automatic transmission, Sync3, p265/35r20 tires, Shaker audio system. Other vehicles 1964 Pontiac Catalina 389, 1972 Pontiac Lemans 400, 1967 Ford F-100 352, 2016 Ford F-350 Dually, 2003 Ford Crown Victoria LX.

Check online for specs on a group 24 battery and then for your battery. That will tell you if they will interchange. I put a 24 into a 2010 Kia even though the parts house said it wouldn't fit (it was a drop in replacement). Also, no mod is a dumb mod. I've seen a lot of cars with what I would consider a "dumb mod" but that's a personal opinion. It's your car and you can choose how you want to change it.

Yup! mods are what looks good in the eyes of the beer holder, eg.
