Plastic Idler Pulley

Do you guys trust these Polymer "plastic" idler pullies ?

I need the ribbed pulley thats to the left of the power steering pump and above to the right of the crank pulley. Its all metal.

Dayco is everywhere ! Ploymer is everywhere! What brand do you trust ? what material you trust ? Or should I just pay a bit more for motorcraft ?

I would decide based on the amount of "wrap" the belt makes on the pulley. If it just "brushes" against the pulley, no serious amount of wrap, there is a lot less force exerted on the pulley than if wrapped, say, more than 90 degrees or 1/4 turn. I've used plastic on Foxes and SN-95s, but am not familiar with the set-up on '05.

Why are you replacing it? If it's the original metal one and damaged, then I'd go with an OEM metal replacement. A plastic one might be cheaper but might not last as long as a metal one.

I heard a sqeek, took the belt off, it had play when I rocked it and heard the classic "im on borrowed time" bearing noise when spun.

its between AC Delco, Dayco, or Gates
