Cruise Buttons Use When Switching from Base to Premium Steering Wheel

I have a 2010 base V6 with the plastic steering wheel and want to switch to the leather premium wheel. From reading the threads, I know the wheel controls will not work when I switch.

My question is can I just plug in the base wheel control buttons for the cruise control and route them under the dash, or something like that?

Thanks!
BB

Those look like the same buttons/controls that are in the steering wheel of my 05' GT premium. I don't know why they wouldn't work. since your going to do the swap, test the buttons before final assembly. if they don't work, try swapping the buttons. good luck

Lots of bolt on goodies...
