12v adapter for center console plugin

Where the heck can you find an adapter for the center console plugin that's under the lid, so that I can plug in standard size 12v plugs (Was given a portable DVD player by Grandma for the 3yo I need to mount on the back of the passenger seat)? The plugin's about half the size of the standard 12v cig lighter plugin. I've tried Walmart, Target, Kmart, Checker, Autozone, Napa and Best Buy. No one's even heard of a plugin that small, let alone have an adapter for it. The closest thing I've seen to it is the plugins on airplanes.

Mine is standard size under the lid in my 06. Did you remove the rubber dust plug from the 12 volt source?

Never mind I read your post wrong. You're saying that your plug in the console in a half sized plug? I switch all kinds of stuff back and forth using both plugs (dash and console) and they are the same size...I thought they were both full size.

06 Stang GT, Yeah I got stuff! Check out my profile for the low down.

Garage
Have you tried Radio Shack? I am always surprised by the gadgets, adapters and plugs I find there. I recently was looking for an adapter that converted the car battery into an AC plug...Radio Shack had one.

Tried Radio Shack too. All they have out here is cell phones and RC cars.

It's a wierd plugin and it came factory (I have an Apr 05 build Mustang). You could just about fit a sharpie marker or not quite your little finger in the hole. I'll have to look at my fathers 07 Mustang today and see if they changed it in later yrs. The owners manual doesn't say anything about it.

I'll get a pic up later today.

Mines full size, Sept. 04 built. I've used iPods, GPS Navs, cell chargers and portable DVD players with no problems in both dash and console plugs.

Are you sure you're not talking about the MP3 jack in the council?

Both my '05's and my '08 have a standard (same size dash and council) 12v plug.
