MP3 Player Solution

I got a working MP3 player solution for the Mustang. There are lots of ways to do this of course, but here's what I did:

- 4gb Vbop MP3 Player from Microcenter for $39.99
- Line in 3.5mm cable from Radio Shack $3.95
- Blackberry Car Phone Charger from eBay $2.95

Dumped all my favorite music on the mp3 player, connected to line in inside the console. Plugged the bberry charger into the mp3 player, set to repeat and never shut off. Permanently charged, minimal footprint mp3 player on a constant loop. Faster than burning/juggling CD's. I just leave it on and hit Aux when I want my music.

Cool man definitely a budget way to do it, I like your economical thinking. The only problem is i would prolly break it, since it would be free hanging, but i guess you could just put it in the console.

It slides right down the passenger side of the console, and the wires prop it up vertically along the side of the box. I have an iPod touch, but it always freaks me out leaving that thing in the car--$400 smash and grab. This thing is so small and cheap that I'm not very concerned about it breaking or getting stolen.

I can't imagine heat and cold is too go for it either. Watch that - it is afterall a hard drive and it is sensitive. Just FYI. Treat it like your computer.

That's awesome! Very budget friendly. I'm OCD, though, so could you put that nickel back in the coin slot for me?

That's the first thing I saw in the pic and I so badly wanted to put it in the slot.

LOL.

No hard drive in it. It's flash memory. I'll cook the little SOB for the rest of the summer and it'll be fine

Nice! Me too. Just a little too lazy to re-take and re-post the picture. Consider the nickle put away (pen too).

Looks good, that is where I keep my player too. I put in an alpine head unit and ran the wires from the back to the console also.
One thing, I would not leave it on all of the time. You don't want the hard drive spinning constantly, it will wear out in no time. Unless of course it's a solid state player.

It's a sickness...

On topic, I don't mind the FM transmitters but it would have been nice if the 06's came with the jack.
