Replacing mirrors (just the glass) question

My mirrors definitely have an "aged" look to them even after I clean them thoroughly. I'm not talking about the plastic casing b/c that still looks absolutely pristine. The problem is that the glass is spotted but it's almost like the spots are INSIDE the mirror. -They simply can't be wiped clean.

How difficult is it to replace just the glass? -Any directions available? Also, anyone know a good place to buy replacement mirror-glass?

Thx much

PS: My side windows are in the same boat but I'm guessing that I just need the tint removed and new tint installed, right?

As I recall, the mirrors simply pop off but you need to be careful not to break the plastic clips that hold them on.

The browseable Shop Manual in the "sticky section" of the Tech Forum should give you clear directions on how this works.

  1. Position the inner edge of the exterior mirror glass to its maximum travel.
  2. Grasp the outer edge of the exterior mirror glass and pull outward to remove the exterior mirror glass.
  3. Install the exterior mirror glass by pressing firmly in the center of the exterior glass until it snaps onto the exterior mirror motor.
  4. NOTE: An audible click will be heard during installation.
