Best Coolant %...is there one?

Hello I was wondering if anyone has ever came up with a "best % of coolant to water ratio" for heat distribution. Is it just good old 50/50 or is there a better %. I put my '06 up in the winter and I was wondering if say a 70/30 would help the car run cooler and or better in the summertime. I currently don't have a problem with the way she runs but I was just simply wondering.

If you know please help...Thanks in advance.
Mike

Water is a better conductor of heat than ethylene glycol. But you need freeze protection, too. You can use a coolant checker hydrometer to see what temperature you should be protected to. But you must engineer in some fudge factor, too, for when the temp drops more than expected.

Here in Texas, I have run as little as 25% prestone, 75% distilled water. But a 33/67% mix is probably better. That gets you protection to the single digits of temperature. Where you are, 50/50 is probably the way to go.

I tried Water Wetter once, and actually saw higher temperatures in the coolant.
