Older Mustang Wheels on a S197?

Anyone know if the Bullitt wheels from the previous generation of mustangs would fit on a S197? I've been looking to upgrade my stock v6 wheels...

I had considered that, but the offset was wrong if I recall. I don't know how much you planned to pay for your "new" wheels, but there are options. I got a quote for a local company to powder coat my stock rims for $125 each.

As mentioned, wrong offset. I had a set of 2001 Bullitts. I posted on the forums and got lucky. I found a guy looking to swap 2005 Bullitts for my 2001...

The whole offset thing can be a bit misleading.

The 1999-2004 wheels will fit on 2005-2009 mustangs, but will stick out a bit further from the vehicle. Some prefer the look and others prefer the look of having the proper offset.

Ok, so if I got some 17x8" wheels from a 2003, they would fit, just look wider than stock?

I really just want to know if they will work or not...

im pretty sure a 17x8 will be fine even with an 03 offset as its not a really wide rim

17x8 is important for tire size, but for making sure there is enough play in turning arc you need to know the offset of your wheel. The off set determns how off center the wheel width (8 inches here) is from where the thing bolts up to your axle.

Now most 05-09 wheels have a 45mm offset. But the 94-04 wheels have a shorter 30mm offset. That difference of 15 mm is going to stick out from under your car.

It's been a while since I started this thread but figured I'd provide an update! I ended up getting some anthracite bullitts from an s95 (unsure of which year) with tires and they look awesome! The offset makes them come out enough to where it fills out the wheel well extremely well. It is perfect and improves the stance by 100%! I also like the design more than the newer bullitts since it has a deeper look to them. I was extremely happy once i put them on! Anyone wondering the same question, they look sweet and mean on our cars, way more so than the new ones!
