Older Vette Gets an Earful

The other day I was sitting at a light with my windows down (I love hearing the sound of her rumble). This older Vette (early 90's model) pulls up to me (with his windows down). He looks over at me and asks me what I have under the hood; I told him the base GT motor with a cold air intake, Ford FR1 Racing Kit, Kook Headers, Boss Pipes and 4:10 gears. He says, "Geez, she sure is quiet"; I told him that when I wake her up, she talks pretty loud; he just looked at me and then turned away. So the light turns green; I let her loose and I guess he got to hear her quite well since he was about a car length behind me for about a quarter mile; I let off the pedal and he pulled up next to me and shook his head in agreement and went on his way.

I LOVE THIS CAR!

very nice, but you don't have 370 hp with the mods above. Mustangs for an s197 are about 265 realllll horsepower. your probubly sitting at like 280 right now.

Well, I purchased it used; I was told the guy put it on a dyno and it came in at 370HP. Either way, it looks fast, it sounds fast and since I don't have an open road to let her loose, she's fast enough for me.

you kidding? My brother in law was making 300 to the wheels with a CAI, a tune and the stock 3:55 gears on his '05. I'd imagine joe is making close to 320

Actually with a CAI, headers and tune, these cars sit around 320rwhp. That 370 hes talkin about would be the approx. hp at the crank.

ewww....ewwww. I luv these guessing games...

I would have to say he is going to be at or under 300 and thats if he has a manual...but the oil fiter in the Ford Racing FR1 kit makes all the difference

But as long as the OP has fun blasting the eardrums of 'Vette owners who cares.
