carbon fiber hood pin holes

im installing a carbon fiber hood along with hood pins....question is, when i drill the holes through the carbon fiber, do i need to coat the exposed carbon fiber w/ anything??? not sure if that makes sense or not.....

It won't hurt but it really isn't necessary. The fiber itself won't absorb water and the resin won't either. Be careful you don't breath in the fibers or dust from drilling and the splinters can be much worse than wood.
