What type of antifreeze for top off...

So, this will be a stupid question but I'm asking it for peace of mind (and I'd rather look stupid on a forum than look stupid with on the side of the road with a steaming engine).

I need to top off my antifreeze and I am wondering what I can use. Do I need to go to a dealer and pick up some Motorcraft stuff, or can I use the 50/50 mixture I can get from the nearest auto parts store (green or orange).

For further information: this is (as far as I know) the original fluid in the system and it is orange.

Thanks in advance for your help!

It probably has the G05 "Gold" antifreeze in it. You can get the Zerex G05 cheaper at the auto parts place instead of going to the Ford dealer. http://www.valvoline.com/products/br.../antifreeze/42

If it is orange, that's probably Dexcool. I'd flush it and refill with the proper Motorcraft gold. Dexcool is bad news from my experiences with the stuff.
