Unhappy Maybe time to upgrade??

Alright everyone I think it might be time for an upgrade. Not because I don't like my car anymore but due to some recent circumstances I just think it would be best. Heck i'll just tell you.

My GF and I of 6 years just broke up and well my car was one that we bought together and built together. It was my way of showing her my passion for cars and try and bring her into it as well. We are almost out of college (graduating in May) and I thought it would be the perfect time to take the next step and ask her to marry me. She thought it was the perfect time to break up. Well now that has happened and came to a sudden stop all I see when I get into my car is her and I think it would be best if I just upgraded to the new 5.0 or maybe even the new V6 (even though I already have my V6) and start fresh. I know this is kind of extreme sounding to some people but I think it would be good to just try this out.

Sorry for the long boring rant but I needed to get it out because its been bugging me. Anyways, let me know what you think, try not to be harsh haha.

Wouldn't a bottle of scotch be a lot cheaper? I know it's hard to imagine, but soon she will just be a foggy memory and the car will become yours alone. Hang in there buddy.

What are you gonna do if the next girl leaves you. Maybe a GT500? This can get expensive. Give it time. Let your emotions settle. Look at it this way, your car didn't leave you. It's always there wating for you. Not like that f#%&in who#$. haha. just kiddin. Anyway, if time doesn't heal all wounds, I guess we'll see you in the 2011+ section.

Haha scotch was an option earlier until I realized I had to keep studying and all that fun stuff for my double major. But I guess what you have said can be true.

Haha the GT500 wouldn't be so bad if I get a good enough career after college. Giving it time and keep looking forward is what I'm doing to keep my head on straight. You are right in saying everything about the car. Maybe i'll just keep it and try and drop the 5.0 engine in it instead. Who knows, my minds going 100mph right now so in good time I will know.

Yeah, look at it sitting there in your driveway with those big Mustang Doe Eyes..

It's saying, "But.. but why me? I didn't do anything wrong.. She walked out on both of us. We're in this together... guys and cars like us gotta stick together." It's saying, "Don't worry boss, I got your back, just look at me. I'll do better this time - together we'll find us some fine-ass porn star p***y with big fake tittes and everything! I won't let you down, but don't you abandon me too.. where will I go, what will I do? What if I wind up with some punk kid that never gives me a wash or wax, sticks some gay fake chrome trim from Autozone all over me and then I get wrapped around a tree!! Please for the love of God not that!! Anything but that!!"

At least thats what my Mustang would say to me.. I know it.

You should just start having sex with other girls in the car. Then you will forget all about your ex.

Hahaha fold down the rear seats and put a foam pad down. Works better than just the back seat!

Sorry to hear about your situation but like others have said, what has the mustang done to you?? Trust me I know how you feel but my advice to you would be to keep the stang and make new and better lasting memories with it, then if a new female companion decides to show up...well you know the rest.

But like I was saying keep the car, you put time and effort into her and don't let another female come in-between you

09 V6 Premium, Pony Pkg. Grabber Orange, True duals H-Pipe with GT Takeoff mufflers, Rear deck blackout vinyl, Sequential tail lights, Black Pony Package Mustang Billet Grille, SCT SF3/X3 tuner with Bama 93 race and Tunable Induction "Grabber Orange" CAI..... with more to come

Yea I agree with everyone, the Stang is like your kid. You wouldnt give away your kid during a divorce would you? I would keep it and just change it up a bit, new stripes etc.

Lol I know that feeling. I have an 04 GT and being in it makes memories of my ex come up. Like looking over and seeing her cute face in it. Or her all over me in there (; cant forget the shorty antenna she got me thats still on there. I'm upgrading to a 06 GT. Not because of her but because the 2v is poop. There is nothing wrong with getting a new toy. Do what makes you happy. Id go v8 though. Maybe she left you for a guy with a v8? :p

My ex-gf looked like Catherin Zeta-Jones (swear to god..ask my dad..the dirty ole man..) I was MADLY IN LOVE...18 months we dated..lived together etc...but things started to change and she wanted kids asap..which meant getting rid of the GT that i built which you see in my signature. She said it was embarassing cause it was loud and ostentatious. The mustang didn't break us up, it was the changes she was trying to make to me as a person. But i though, "wait a tick..i'm not selling my car...thats one of my passions..." Oh i loved this girl, and we did TONS in my new GT...good thing i have leather interior..but no one should change you....or your passions..... Keep the car, Brother... Go out with a clay bar, show her some love..and you'll know when the time is right for an upgrade..

2010 Mustang GT, FRPP 3:73.1 gears, Paxton NOVI 2200 H.O. supercharger, SCT brenspeed tune, KOOKS LT headers, catted H pipe, SSS axleback exhaust, Comp Cams Detroit RoCkErS, brenspeed grind, DuPont SuperJetBlack re-spray w/ ChromaPremier clear, blocked down and buffed out, no orange peel! and a 3m clear bra.. It sounds like my Ducati 996 now. :-P
BHP? Lots, I guess...

Garage
When my ex girlfriend stopped with me years ago, I sold a 99 Z28 in new conditions (only 35K miles) and the WE following the sale, I was more disappointed by having an empty garage than by my ex GF. I was missing the V8 so much than few weeks later I bought my 05 GT.
As said earlier, no one should be between a man and his car. Why not doing some mods on it. The look will be different, this will help you thinking about something else.

Yeah, just keep the car. Take it from an older guy. New car means payment and you don't know what your paycheck is going to look like in a month.

Seriously, if they don't renew some of these tax breaks that are floating around out there, your paycheck may be significantly less in about 5-6 weeks.

2016 GT/CS. Automatic, convertible. So far 100% stock!
