Aftermarket Door Moulding Sighted

Somebody help me with this. I was riding the airport shuttle in Atlanta this afternoon and a gray 05 came zipping in front of the bus, an older fellow(grandpa was bustin' some moves), and it had a color matching piece of moulding going horizontal on the doors. This stuff was tappered at 45 degree angles on the ends and looked really good. I have never seen this; anybody know about this stuff????????

Ford does offer body side moldings on the 05 Mustang. Its just that you can't order them unless you are a fleet or rental purchaser. I'll bet the 'Stang you saw by the airport was a Hertz rental car.

Not so mate. I ordered body side moldings on my 05, they were a $95.00 (Canadian) option.

Maybe its just the majority of the ones you will see are 'fleet or rental". I rented a red one in Dec from Avis and it had the side moldings.

Apparently its available in Canada, but not for the USA cars unless its a fleet order.......at least thats what the dealer told me when I ordered.

I like the clean look without it. But door dings don't look so good either. So, I'd opt for the moulding cause nobody gives a damn about other people's property.

I also prefer the clean look without the moldings, however as previously stated door dings look worse. It almost seems like the nicer your car is the more door dings you get, I am convinced there are morons out there who swing their doors as hard as possible on purpose as a way of sneaky vandalism. To quote John Travolta in pulp fiction "You don't f*** with another mans ride".

Im a Ford parts counterman and i can tell you that you can goto the parts counter and order these and they come in the correct color. Just get your paint code off the door. Im thinking they run around $40 each.

Your best defense is to always find a good "end spot" to park and be sure you know an excellent Paintless Dent Repairman...I have one guy that I've used for the past 9 years and he's outstanding...in fact he's removed the smallest imperfections in the paint coming from the factory.:yelpleased:
