Question Siphon Gas for Indoor Show?

I need to siphon around a quarter of the tank for a local indoor show this weekend. I cannot drive the car to use up the fuel, so I was hopng to siphon it out.

Can this be done on the 05-09 style?

Thanks,

Sean

I wouldn't see why not.

Get a long hose and start sucking.

No there is an anti siphon device in the filler neck.

Well.... that's a bummer.

If you used hollow metal pipe to open the valve, or whatevers in there, then slide a hose down the pipe would that work?

You can take off the left rear tire, remove the fuel filler at the tank, and put in a syphon into the tank. At the neck of the tank, there is a spring ball valve to close off the tank in case of a roll over. It'll push right out of the way. Of course, this will only have access to 1/2 of the sadle tank.

Check with your show people, most will want either a small amount of gas in the tank or a locking gas cap. The locking gas cap is about $20.

They are demanding both the locking gas cap and 1/8 of a tank.

I drove the car this evening home for a 40 minute drive and burned up some gas.
