Speaker install template

I have a GT Deluxe that did not come with the Shaker system. I am looking for a template that will guide me in cutting out the holes in the doors for subs where the shaker subs would have gone. Are the doors for the deluxe prewired by ford for the subs. Do they have mounting brakets behind the door panel. Thanks

The door panels, with subs, are quite different than non shakers. They have a bose style tuned base reflex system. You might just want to put a 12 in the trunk. Otherwise maybe find a totaled shaker car and buy the door panels, but that would be quite expensive. As far as wiring, I dont know. If you do decide to chop up your door panels, I would take them off and devise a plan from there.

Good Luck! :thumbsup

There's a driver's side all black Shaker door panel on eBay right now, and it looks like it includes the sub.

The stock subs are all I'd recommend in the doors without Dynamatting the door, and reinforcing the sub enclosure or replacing it with a custom fiberglass unit. The enclosure resonates horribly compared to a solid MDF or fiberglass enclosure, but it's better than no enclosure.

No idea on the prewiring.
