Heads up FordGirl, you will have to take the whole taillight assy out of the car. The harness feeds through the sheet metal in the rear, and the pigtails are on the outside of that. It's going to be a bummer to change out light bulbs on these cars.

Has been the same since what, 95? Can't see Ford changing them now.

I added a wire to each side to make all three bulbs work as brake lights, kinda the same as the re-wire job of the sequentials but without the 'lectronics.
Ok, before I tear into the tail light housing -- to make all thee bulbs work as brake lights. Could anyone provide a diagram/example to add the wire and where it taps into. We have been reading these posts and feel fairly confident about opening this up (need a deep 7/16 socket - pop or BREAK the little pins holding together - Wire ????). Any HELP woud be appreciated and Thank You in advance..

I also wanted the stock brake light behavior. The instructions in the package were pretty clear, but it was somewhat unnerving pulling the panels out, not knowing excactly how they came out. I don't have a diagram, but I remember the instructions being pretty specific. Ran the wire from the trunck behind the rear seat under the trim panel along the passengar side up to the passenger size front kick panel. Exposed the wires and spliced into the one that I thought was correct. I remember that there were many wires there, and the colors weren't as clear as I thought they'd be. Before re-splicing, I emailed the company. They were very helpful and got back very quickly. Cut the wire and re-spliced and everything worked.
