GT vs V6, same 0-60?

A salesman at my local ford dealer told me that the GT and the V6 are exactly the same speed-wise in 0-60 but then after that is when the GT is faster. Is this true?

He's wrong.
The v8 is at least a full second faster.
Read a few reviews, and saw different 0-60 times for the v8.
Anywhere from 5.1 to 5.8
Must be the difference in drivers.
The v6 was rated at 0-60 in 6.9

Why do salesmen just blatantly lie or just spew poop out of their mouths. The V6 0-60 is 7.0 seconds. (Motorweek road test)

Re: GT vs V6, same 0-60?

I could understand how someone could be dupped by that if they aren't familiar with Ford. I mean those crappy Celicas and celica GT's are practically the same from toyota. Difference of like 10 hp or sometihng between models if any(same engine in both i think). So im sure they have the same 0-60 times.

But common, v6 vs v8? That salesman should be fired.

It's the same time of the 5.0L Fox4 mustangs -probably what he meant.

I think if they are dropped over a cliff, the speed will be the same.

When I first went to the dealership to look at the new Mustang I was talking to my dealer about the power of the car etc etc. He said to me 'Ford doesn't say exactly how much power the car produces, but its about 275hp' I was like what!? I believe its 300. But since he's a friend o' the family I was getting the car through him either way, whether or not he knew wtf he was talking about. Upon ordering the car, I gave him the options over the phone, when I told him I wanted red interior he didn't even know what I was talking about. So I described it to him and he's like "noo, I think you can get red and black two-tone seats but not all red" so finally he leaves the phone to get the brochure because there is a pic of the red interior in the 2006 brochure. He comes back and he's like "woooww.. I've never even seen this before". Haha what is with Ford employees? I won't even get started on the service department.

I'm thinking that too. They had about 10-15 V6's and ONE used 05 GT.

Towbin Dodge is the biggest RIPOFF! they advertise cheap cars, and they try to add all these stupid fees. I will never go there again, or recomend anyone getting a car there. They are just plain "untrustworthy"
