I hear ya kswift but I think, let the kids fight. It's good for them. You know what's sad though? I used to have a lot of respect for the members involved in this thread but when you get yourself sucked into a mindless debate it kinda ruins your opinion of 'em. Oh well, on to real life...

Wolfpac, I've read all of your posts, and that's why I said if you aren't happy, trade in your Mustang and get the nissan.

The best part of all of this argument, before e-punches being thrown, was about the amount of hp in the s197 v8, which is 300.

Ok, line up an s197 with the other 300hp and up cars....talking stock here now...

The s197 won't take the vette, or the gto (the higher powered one, the older one is a driver's race)

It won't take the WRX STi, unless the driver sucks..
the EVO supposedly is faster, not having run one, I don't know.

I can't think of anything else in this 300 hp or close to range that the s197 won't DESTROY.

Go ahead and bring on the 350z, g35, dodge POS hemi...whatever.

The point is, anything that will beat it, costs a good amount of money more. Yes, even the STi costs more than an 05/06 gt.

Now, as far as the v6 having 210 hp, just remember that it is still outperforming many of the earlier Mustang GT's, and doing it with a smaller engine. It will beat many of the GM v6 fireturds, and crapmaros. Need to have more power??? Still want a Mustang?? Turbo it! Bam!!! 350 hp. Someone on this site has done it, also some nitrous v6's here.

Now, back on topic....

The wife was thinking about getting a v6 Mustang. I almost let her, but then she drove the Mercury Milan, and it was a done deal.

We decided that one Pony was enough in the family, and the Milan has a 210hp v6, with a six speed auto. WE love that car. She says it hauls much @$$. I enjoy driving it also.

I could easily see her driving a v6 mustang and saying it's too fast.
Personally, I could also see myself perfectly happy with an s197 v6, and would probably be a much nicer driver as well....

I Hate GM, deal with it.

- If you read my post you'll know that straight from the beginning that I love my V6. If you read more carefully on my other posts you 'll know that I understand that the GT can beat certain cars. I'm just not happy with the numbers itself. If a V6 can pump out about 300 hp then I'd say 300 hp for a V8 is low. That's all I'm saying.... Hey I love my V6 but if people are going to say they hate the power in it then I'd say there's more of a reason to hate the power in the V8. That's all.

300 HP for a V8 is low??? yes there are cars with a few more ponies on a V8, but they also cost 40K plus.

That last guy in the pics must have a gland problem LOL

An STI & EVO aren't 40,000, and the G35 can be had for a couple of grand more.

But that's not his point.

His point is, it's ridiculous.

His point (Let me know if I'm wrong, wolf) is the v6 outperforms just everything in it's catogory. Including the Hyundai 6, the Eclipse 4, the Chrysler 6, etc. Of those, ONLY the Chrysler 6 comes close.

The GT, despite being an 8, has competition, not only from smaller displacement 4s, but 6s, and in terms of hp, the GTO blows it away. So where are the bragging rights?

but there isnt a car on that list that the stang gt cant take.even the high end version of those cars can be beaten by a stock gt...and the high end version of those cars are already touchin the ceilin as far as what you can do with em...theyre already blown or turbo'd so maybe you can nitrous em if the engine can take it but thats it...fast as it goes...just to maybe beat a stock gt...which in turn hasnt even begun to climb the power tree....now on the flip side of that point...chrysler and eclipse blow away the ford v6 with their versions....so it also makes my point...that although the mustang 6 is a cool car with possibilities...no way should anything with a mustang badge be so easily beaten IN ITS STOCK FORM. like i had said...i raced a mazerati down the highway and ran with him...maybe i didnt beat it ...but racin a 95 grand ferrari powered car and havin fun doin...gettin a thunbs up from its driver...thats worth 30 grand to me...the stock mustang v6 aint racin anything almost 70 grand more and hangin with it...but its still a mustang and thats what we're all here for so its all good

Geez. Look at the price points, they are ALL significantly LOWER than the GT, except for the Crossfire. And the six can beat a standard crossfire.

The Ford 6 is detuned substantially, so it's just as easy, if NOT EASIER to get 400 hp out of the six, because there's more room for modifications like headers, etc.

The Eclipse 6 costs the same as a GT, and has 3 more hp than the 2004 Mustang GT.

How wimpy is that?

:thumbsup
