Radar Detector Question

Which is the best radar detector out there? I liked the looks of the Valentine One, but I have no idea

Mine is the Escort Passport 8500 X50. Real good unit. Saved me a few tickets so far. One thing I learned though is if you are the only one on the road you might get a ticket unless you can get her whoa'd under the ticket speed in short order.

What I like is the power cord has a red light that flashes when a signal is detected. Also has a button to mute the sound from the detector. You at least can then tell how strong the signal is by how fast the flashing is.

I second the Escort Passport X50! Mine is hooked up to an Escort Laser Shifter... AWESOME!!

Valentine One - best combination of features and performance.

I bought my Whistler a couple years ago and it has paid for itself a couple times over. I did my research starting here though, and the recommended products has changed a bit: http://www.radarbusters.com/support/...mendations.asp

I use the Beltronics units in my cars and all are hard wired. The unit turns on when the ignition is turned on.

I've got one of these for both cars and love them. They have paid for themselves several times over.

I have been using a Whistler 3000 for about 3 years. It has saved my butt many times. I have gotten an alert as far away as 2 miles. It will also pick up radar reflections from cars at the top of an overpass. It has the VG-2 detector mode. In Florida, I don't think the HP, Sherrif's office or local police use those devices.

The Valentine 1 is the only way to go.

Cobra Electronics Radar Detectors all the way!! Used them for years! They are great!

I have the Passport 8500 X50 as well, and man does that thing rock! I had it hardwired into my car... there are no exposed wires, it turns on when I start up the car (as well as turns off when I shut down), and I mounted the mute button flush on the console near the shifter to allow me to simply move my hand a few inches to mute the noise. Pretty sweet setup indeed....

The Valentine One has won every review since it came out.

This is very true and you get what you pay for. Road and track and car and driver have done many comparison tests over the years and the Valentine always comes out on top.
