VERY disapointed. The Shelby name means less and less everytime they do something like this. (i.e. the CS6 and the GT-H)

As for the front clip, it's the same as the GT-H which is the same as the GT/CS.

The hood scoop is riveted to the hood. What happened? Did Shelby Automotive move to Alabama and start haning out with the redneck racer crowd?

The ONLY thing they did right on this car is the FRPP/Hurst shifter.

BTW, It only comes in white or white. Both with silver stripes.

The article on the GT300H as they were calling the Hertz rental version said that it had 1) Cold Air Intake, 2) Sport Tune, and 3) different exhaust (i.e. cat back). That's pretty much it.

Man, that car *so* does not grab me. It's like something just shy of a kid with a JC Whitney catalog.

Yippee. It has scoops that don't scoop anything and a whole 25 additional ponies. Along with lots of vinyl striping and skinny tires.

I hope at least they made the tailpipes stick out about 8" from the bumper. Maybe they could make it a station wagon or a Ranchero type thing to totally ruin it for me. "Can I get the automatic in diesel?"

Don't get me started

2006 Black, GT, spoiler delete, five speed, leather, custom welded straight pipes with resonators, sequential turn signals, Hurst Pro Performance shifter. FRPP 4.10s with Motive bearing kit, Spydershaft one piece aluminum driveshaft, w/ Spicer 1330 U-joints, Steeda UCA and LCAs, chrome moly panhard rod. bye bye wheel hop, hello traction! SCT XCalII, BBK CAI, ZEX 100 shot.
I've written a book or two. Google David Buschhorn to laugh at my scribblings.

I always thought that business went something like this-I have a product, and you have money. Lets make a transaction.
But actually you are supposed to do the peacock feather dance.

As some other stangers said, I'd rather buy a stock gt and then mod it myself. By doing that, that makes the car more unique and makes you feel better because you built the car then IMO.

2005 Ford Mustang GT *Black Sunshine*
Current Mods: head & taillight covers, red tri-bar pony floor mats, sequential tail lights, chrome skull & flame pedals, red wire covers, underhood billet caps/covers

They also have different gearing, 3:55's with the autos I think. One thing I can't figure is these are supposed to do 13.6 according to the article, yet the same magazine pegged the 05 GT's et at 13.5 when they first came out, whats up with that? 25 more hp's and slower et's?

I dislike them both. They look kind of cheesy. I really don't go for scoops that don't scoop.

Wow, it's shocking how most of you S197 owners dislike it! It's only the 2nd Shelby model to be released in 35+ years and 4th S197 model (not including specialization shops: Roush, Saleen, etc.), I don't see where the Mustang market is saturated with different models. I like it and would buy it if I had the money (and couldn't afford the GT500). Just my opinion.

Yeah, I thought about that after I posted, I wasn't thinking about the GT-H and I haven't heard of the CS6, are they actually going to make them. I also wasn't intending to include the classics in my count, just the recent models. So 3 recent shelby releases and one is a rental car, still not that many.

All you guys are the greatest!! This is one of the only forums where other members do not berate a mistake and when we do make one, we fess up. Clear and simple, a good way for participating in a contentious debate.

That said, this new Shelby gives you very little for your buck. We have seen mods in this forum that exceed the specs of this new model for a lot less dough. AND provides the owner with a unique Mustang. Kudos to all!!

2005 GT Premium, windveil blue, silver GT-style painted stripes, BBK CAI and Shorty Headers, Cat-back Bassani exhaust system. SCT Performance Tune. 20" Shelby Razor wheels,14" eradi-speed rotors, Tokico DSpec shocks, steeda sportlite springs, BMR suspension bars.
