Well, I figured that if I keep making the $550/month that I choose to pay now (More than minimum) I will pay off the 06 3 months later than the 05. Plus have a year newer car and have 10K less miles. Wife said go for it, my only concern is opening a new account when I am planning on buying a house in a few months... but it will alos lower my monthly requirements. I am waiting on a call from my mortgage person to see if its a good Idea or not.

My whole thing is that I need to lower my monthly payments, be it this way or refinancing. But, I cannot get 0% by refinancing, so I'll try this first. And like you said, for a couple more payments its more beneficial to do it for a new car w/ less miles. I'm at 16,200 miles right now, but I'm moving closer to work come November-December. I want this so bad it hurts...

Shouldn't matter. It's a Ford incentive, I didn't see any fine print on that. Unless you have horrible credit.

I'm going to get my credit score today. In Texas, you're intitled to free credit reports, but you have to pay for your score, which isn't a big deal.

Quote:
*Not all buyers will qualify for Ford Credit Financing. 0% APR financing for 72 months is not available with any other incentive offers and excludes Ford GT, LCF, F-650/750. 72 months at $13.89 per month per $1000 financed with 10 % down. Take new retail delivery from dealer stock by 9/5/06. See dealer for qualifications and complete details.
So, does this mean I need to put 10% down to get it? Because, I'm afraid to say, I don't have anything to put as a down payment... unless they pay me more for my car than my payoff is.

Down payments are usually reserved for ordered cars. That shouldn't be a factor, and again, unless you have horrible credit, you should be ok.

Nah, I've never been late on a bill and I pay my car note two weeks in advance. I'm so freaking excited... but I know not to. But, then again, I didn't get my hopes up and got my car anyways.

Holy cow... Lower by $300 a month? I'd say your choice is clear.

In the excitement I crunched some numbers wrong. But it could still be as good as $150 a month. Plus I get $1,000 off for participating Ford Partner. Looking at a black 06 GT premium with manual transmission on the way home. Not my first choice for color but manuals are hard to find. And my insurance agent said my insurance would be less than $10 a month more - Baby Boomer rates.

I have gotten zilch done at work today thinking about this.

My yellow 05 has custom black leeather with yellow inserts and a aftermarket siler dash overlay. Performance parts in my sig will be removed fromthe car except the Flowmasters.

The new one is red, black leather, IUP, 5-speed, Shaker 500, Black Leather.. Plus Spoiler Delete.

Yes I save $60/month... but add another year on... but get a year newer car... What to do waht to do?

PS I am already Finaced through the bank at 72 months and have made 11 payments.

I would just keep the yellow car, since there is no difference between the 06 and the 05. If it was a model year change that had styling or engine changes...i would go for it.

If it's just a money issue, go with the trade-in. I wasn't going to buy a Mustang if I couldn't get an '05. There was something about having the '05 that drove me. For some people, the year isn't important, and that's fine, I just wanted the first year of the new style.

'05 Sonic Blue GT w/ '07 V8 engine, 5-sp, IUP, Beige leather interior, nothing else -
just the way I wanted it. (1 of 113)
OK, so I've added a few things to it. Check my Profile - too many to list here.
